For more than 30 years the Harrison Group has operated a geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory in Norwich, which serves clients on a national basis. The laboratory has UKAS accreditation for a comprehensive range of geotechnical testing to BS1377, but is also able to carry out a wide range of tests to other standards. In addition to the testing work carried out directly for external clients, the laboratory plays an important role in supporting the activities of the geotechnical and environmental services operated by the Group.

Recently the laboratory has undergone expansion in the testing services that it has to offer and we are planning further growth and diversification in the near future.

UKAS Accredited tests carried out by our laboratory cover the physical testing of soil and rock and include: -

• compressibility
• permeability
• effective stress
